Music West Inc., a California Nonprofit Corporation |

We have a full production team that handles most major aspects of the show. However, participants and/or their families are required to assist with at least one area of production, or provide a donation in lieu of service time to help cover costs. Volunteer areas include: ticketing, supervision, make-up, set building and striking the theater upon closing. We definitely welcome family participation! |
After auditions, we will have a 3-days per week rehearsal schedule, usually practicing on Mondays and Thursdays for two hours in the evenings, and Saturday mornings. There are some times when chorus cast members will only need to attend one or two rehearsals a week, but during the month before a show, all must attend each rehearsal. Stage crew must attend rehearsals starting about 1 month prior to showtime. |

What makes Music West different from other theater experiences? |
First and foremost, Music West is a family theater organization. We provide an enriching, positive and quality experience for all our participants, but with a time commitment that still enables them to stay involved in other activities. We have found that often, schools aren't able to provide a Broadway-caliber performing arts program for their students, and many of those that do, particularly high schools, require an extensive time commitment. Many community theater groups are geared mainly toward adult participation. Our team has enjoyed success producing high quality, traditional-styled shows with very reasonable rehearsal schedules, based in our local area, and we want to extend that opportunity to the people in our community who are interested in performing on stage or have an interest in technical production or crew. |
Our productions, particularly those in the recent past, have involved actors of all ages, both young people and adults. Some of our production team members, and even entire families, have also been cast in the show as well! We welcome auditioners from ages 10 and up, and characters are cast according to who the audition team feels will best portray the roles in the production. |
